Model: Hyundai Kona 64kwh. Year: 2020. Posted 9 February, 2017. It all depends on the sort of runs the car is getting. Short trips will give you a lot of passive regens. Motorway cruising tends to result in a regen at the end of the journey. It's a 'smart' system and will regen after about 600Km no matter what.
How Long Does an Automatic Regeneration Take? An automatic regeneration can take as long as 20 to 30 minutes depending on driving conditions/style. Characteristics of a DPF Regeneration. The DPF system may have the following characteristics during a regeneration: • Idle speed increase to 1200 rpm (M/T) / 900 rpm (A/T) when stationary; DPF operation parameters / 2019 and 2020 DPF operation parameters / Model Years 2007 to 2018 As of model year 2019, Mercedes-Benz began installing a DPF (916) 452 - 5067 | stephensservice@surewest.net Also look at 241.2 & 241.3, Soot Load Calculated & Measured (g) -- ideally, these should be close, but either over about 22 g predicts onset of an auto DPF regen. You'll know the regen is underway when temps in Group 099 (099.2 Temp Prior to Turbocharger, 099.3 Temp prior to Particulate Filter, and 099.4 Temp after Particulate Filter) are much- Ըշуνуհիпι оሻաслዮ οг

Passive regeneration takes place normally while driving, when engine load and vehicle drive-cycle create temperatures that are high enough to regenerate the soot buildup on the DPF walls. Active regeneration happens while the vehicle is in use, when low engine load and lower exhaust gas temperatures inhibit the naturally occurring passive
A forced regeneration usually does the trick and you can go merrily on your way. But if you're repeatedly having to take the car in for this treatment, there's a very good chance that your DPF will need to be replaced - and this is a job that can cost well in excess of £1000, if you get a garage to do it.Yes you are correct. The DPF "status" gauge does not show how full the DPF is and I don't know of a gauge that does, however it is a measure of the differential pressure (shown in percentage format) and at what point the computer triggers a active regen. When my gauge hits 100% it starts a regen, EGT's on probe 3 go to 1000 Degrees etc. etc.Driving normally and avoiding short trips facilitates regen to keep your DPF running cleanly. How Long Does Regen Take? Regen times depend on the soot level, vehicle condition, and type: Passive regen – Average of 5-10 minutes; Active regen – Typically 10-30 minutes ; Parked regen – Can take over an hour if DPF is overloaded Since I had obtained the DPF function as an In-App purchase, I decided to use it to request a DPF regen. The process was easy and after a 45 minute drive at 100km/hr, was completed within the hour. The good news for me is that the car now starts as I consider it always should have and has improved throttle response and reduced fuel consumption. Want to know more? In T4F engines, the diesel particulate filter (DPF) traps soot from engine exhaust gases. This filter must be periodically cleaned through regeneration to maintain emissions reduction performance and fuel efficiency. How often DPF regeneration must happen depends on several factors.
