For this review, the lens was tested on a Canon EOS 5D MkII using Imatest. Used Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L II USM. Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM SEARCH. They are both strongest at the 24-40mm range and their edge and center performance are pretty much identical. Hello I'm thinking of upgrading my 18-155 Kit lens that I got with my Canon 70D and I was wondering if it is worth upgrading to a EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM lens or a EF 24-105mm f/4.0 L IS USM Lens. I have about £600 to spend. Any thoughts or advise would be welcome.

The resolution characteristic of the Canon EF 24-70mm f/4 USM L IS is impressively high and even throughout the zoom range. The center performance is already excellent at f/4 followed by very good borders and good to very good corners. Stopping down to f/5.6 or f/8 results in a slight increase in performance (on this high level).
